Brands that share parts
Several brands come from the same manufacturer. Whirlpool Corporation makes Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Maytag and Amana. Frigidaire is part of Electrolux. GE Appliances is closely related to Moffat and Hotpoint. Older Kenmore appliances were built by other manufacturers, and the first digits of the model number show which one.
That's why the model number matters more than the badge on the front: it tells us exactly which parts your appliance uses.
Under warranty?
If your appliance is still under the manufacturer's warranty, contact the manufacturer first. A warranty repair may cost you nothing. Once the warranty has ended, we can diagnose the fault and give you a written quote.
